Supporting 100 Flood-Affected Families in Nuwakot
Following the devastating floods and landslides in Nuwakot, Himalayan Care Hands organized an emergency relief distribution program to provide practical assistance to families and communities in need.
On 6 September 2026, our team distributed essential relief materials to approximately 100 families across several locations:
- Devighat
- Bidur
- Child Shelter
- Ayurved Hospital Shelter
Rather than distributing identical packages everywhere, relief materials were provided according to the needs and necessities of each location. This allowed available resources to reach the people and facilities where they could provide the most meaningful support.
Essential Relief Supplies Distributed
The emergency relief materials included a combination of food supplies, cooking essentials, tents, blankets, hygiene products, cleaning materials, emergency lights and children's items.
Different locations had different priorities. Some families needed basic household and cooking supplies, while temporary shelters and community facilities required bedding, hygiene materials, lighting or other practical necessities.
By coordinating the distribution according to actual needs, Himalayan Care Hands aimed to make every contribution as useful and effective as possible.
Relief Distribution Across Five Locations
The relief program reached Devighat, Bidur, a Child Shelter, an Ayurved Hospital Shelter in Nuwakot.
Our team worked to organize the distribution carefully and respectfully so that assistance could reach flood-affected families as efficiently as possible.
For Himalayan Care Hands, emergency relief is not only about delivering supplies. It is about understanding what people need at that particular moment and providing practical support that can help them through a difficult period.

This Nuwakot flood relief project was made possible through the support of Himalayan Care Hands, the Netherlands, together with the local coordination and distribution efforts in Nepal.
We are deeply grateful to everyone whose contribution helped us provide essential supplies to families affected by the disaster.
Although one relief distribution cannot replace everything that families have lost, timely support can help provide warmth, safety, dignity and reassurance during the difficult days following a disaster.
